On My Way
I’ve never asked for being born into this place
A place where everything is set so well
You go to school, you go to work,
you go to church and if you don’t,
if you’ve been bad - you’ll surely go to hell
Some live like sinners, some like saints,
carrying their loads without complaints
I was never quite so sure, which side to choose
But I always knew I had to get away
I’ m on my way - this is my day
From now on I’ll be walking in the sun
My life’s been nothing
but one big mace
Kept me wandering ‘round for days
Now I’m leaving, I’ll fly away
And find myself a better place …
to live and have some fun
Yeah, I’m gonna find me
my own island in the sun
For all these years I’ve been waiting,
Waiting for this moment to come
Friends and familiy hugging me,
someones laughing, someones crying,
talking ‘til my head starts to hum
My flight’s been called up
I’m heading for the gate
And I turn around to wave them goodbye
Rushing down the corridor,
clutching my old bag
I wipe a little tear from my eye
I’ m on my way - this is my day
From now on I’ll be walking in the sun
Come on, big silverbird
and carry me away
Before I change my mind and stay
I’m a bit scared
I close my eyes
But in a moment I should see the sun rise …
Above the clouds – half past five …
I’ve never felt more alive
I’ m on my way - this is my day
From now on I’ll be walking in the sun
I’ m on my way - this is my day
Take a heart for a new start
I’m on my way …
